I am a Sikh American who grew up in the US and I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Lt. Brian Murphy. The Sikh community will never forget the brave acts of Lt. Brian Murphy. He displayed incredible courage to protect those in need regardless of race and origin. Hope he recovers soon.

LT. Murphy rocks! Even know what he did is a police officers job I still consider it above and beyond the call of duty. What a brave man this person is. My family and I'll be praying for him. Get well soon sir.

Many times the word "Hero" is used so often that I sometimes wonder about its definition, this is not one of those times.

Lt. Murphy is a fine example of what it means to be a good cop. I am sorry and sickened that Wisconsin's governor has labeled such men and women as greedy and undeserving of the pay they earn, putting their lives on the line, just like Lt. Murphy did yesterday.

I salute you, Lt. Murphy. You have my thanks for a job well done and my wishes for a speedy recovery.

As the sun comes up on our community of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, we realize how fragile our safety and well being really are, and we are unsettled by those thoughts. But as unsettled as we feel, we know there are several families in our community who are in much pain today as they confront the loss of loved ones in yesterday's tragic events. Most of us will move forward, not unchanged, but able to start to put it behind, unlike those whose lives are forever changed on a much deeper level. Thanks to the quick heroic action of Lt. Murphy and the rest of the Oak Creek Police Dept. there weren't more such victims. our thoughts and prayers and love go out to all those who were affected, especially Lt. Murphy.

It is Americans like Lt. Murphy that make this country Great!

To the community of Oak Creek: Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Racism and Hatred have NO place in our society. We are all human beings regardless of our cultural or religious beliefs.... you deserved to be safe and I am very sorry for the losses you have suffered.

God Bless Lt Murphy, he is a shining example of our law enforcement officers. This country needs more men like him. Our prayers are with him for a speedy and complete recovery.

I am an Indian American and I salute Officer Brain Murphy for his bravery and humanity. To do such things first you have to be very good human being then it comes your duty and Officer Brian is the real hero and a real good police officer.
Because of people like him we have love and care for each other in society. People like him encourage our generation to see beyond our race/color/origin.

Way to keep cool, L.T.

In my 65 years of being an Oak Creek resident, this is the worst tragedy I have ever seen. I thank God for police officers such as Lt. Brian Murphy, our Police Chief and his department, our Fire Chief and his department and our Mayor and city officials. Not to mention all of the assistance from surrounding communities.

To the members of the Sikh community, my thoughts and prayers will remain with you through this terrible devastation.

Lt. Murphy, while we honor you and praise you for your selfish act, we also pray for your recovery and for your family. God Bless you!

I am a Sikh American and I have been living in this country for the last 35 years. You have saved the lives of so many people without ANY bias or hesitation. You are a true hero to the American people of all kinds! I wish there was more people in the world like you! Hats off to Lt. Brian Murphy!

The motives of those in these isolated circumstances are usually mental defect or hatred by a person whom really has lost there way in the world. In a free society it his hard to predict what day someone will go off the deep end. We really are left to are own resources when that event arrives as everything that happens in the fort hood shooting, Movie shooting or the temple shooting is reactionary at that point. I am for conceal carry precisely for this reason . All these madmen/ terrorist could of only been stopped by the force to answer in that defining moment. I am for two obvious preventive measures .....Self defense/conceal carry and profiling . Profiling works ......but it must be allowed. The specifics of these shootings are all unique. But the techniques to provide greater safety are the same. Self defense is a human right that will save many more life than it will take. History makes that clear. Profiling works against many of the bad Actors. Neither of these measures are a complete solution, but they certainly are a benefit to the societies whom embrace them. The situations will not end. They happen all over the world . We all know this unless we have our head in the sand. . A person who plans to kill has the advantage and always will . The only defense is to have an idea who they are and the means to stop them when the event arises. The path forward is better awareness and defense NOT less of both.
