Oak Creek's Arsenio Hall Faces Drug Charge

Local man with a famous name faces infamous charges of dealing drugs.

Oak Creek has its own Arsenio Hall, but unlike the actor who starred in "Coming to America," this version allegedly deals large amounts of marijuana.

Hall, 23, of Oak Creek, was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Thursday with one count of possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. If convicted, he faces up to 3 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

On May 23, Oak Creek police officers suspected Hall of dealing marijuana out of his car and spotted him driving without a seatbelt near E. Layton Avenue and S. Howell Avenue. They pulled him over after seeing him go through a yellow light at the Howell and Oklahoma Avenue intersection.

Officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car and called for a K9 unit.

Inside the vehicle, they discovered a gallon-sized bag of marijuana tucked under the driver's side dashboard along with a large garbage bag in the trunk, which may have contained marijuana shipped up from Mexico.

Hall told police, "You got me. You got me with 10.3 grams." The bag contained 11 grams of marijuana.

Officers also found text messages on his phone regarding deals of quarter and full pounds of marijuana.

Hall makes his initial appearance in court Aug. 8.
