Barefoot Man Charged With Felony OWI
Police say an Oak Creek man, 48, hit a parked car with his Isuzu Oasis while driving drunk.
A 48-year-old Oak Creek man has been charged with felony drunken driving after police say he hit a parked car while driving under the influence.
William L. Nehrbass was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Friday with fourth-offense operating while intoxicated within five years. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Wednesday, Oak Creek police officers were called to the 700 block of E. Puetz Road after someone reported a 1996 Isuzu Oasis had sideswiped a parked car in the area. When officers arrived, they found Nehrbass barefoot and standing in the middle of the road, looking confused.
Nehrbass had difficulty standing and failed field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for OWI and taken to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital for a blood test.
Nehrbass was previously convicted of OWI twice in 1992 and once in 2008. He’s currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail on $1,000 bond while awaiting trial.
