A car accident on 13th Street near Riverside Drive resulted in the hospitalization of both drivers and major damage to each vehicle.

According to an Oak Creek police report:

A 45-year-old Oak Creek woman was southbound in the 8800 block of S. 13th St. about 9:50 a.m. Wednesday when she attempted a U-turn from the right lane.

She then collided with a vehicle driven by a 51-year-old Racine woman, who was also southbound on 13th Street.

The 45-year-old was taken to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital with head pain and the 51-year-old to Froedtert for a right leg injury.

Both vehicles sustained severe damage. The Milwaukee County Highway Department was called to remove debris from the road.

Police were still determining citations for the 45-year-old.
