Citations Issued After Prom Celebration in Hotel

Police called to Days Inn after teenagers allegedly set off fire alarms and smoked marijuana. Sixteen high schoolers were escorted from premises.

A group of teenagers celebrating prom were kicked out of an Oak Creek hotel early Saturday morning for allegedly setting off fire alarms and smoking marijuana.

According to an Oak Creek police report, a Days Inn employee called police about 3:15 a.m. requesting help in evicting occupants of seven rooms in the hotel, 1201 W. College Ave.

An officer arrived and noted a strong odor of marijuana along with a small number of open intoxicants, according to the report.

Two boys, age 16 and 17, were cited for possession of marijuana. The 16-year-old was also cited for a curfew violation.

A total of 16 teenagers left the hotel.

Oak Creek High School's prom was held this past weekend, but this incident did not appear to be connected (nearly all of the high schoolers involved had Milwaukee addresses, except for one who was from Wauwatosa).

What moron parent(s) think it's a good idea to reserve 7 rooms for a bunch of 16-17 year olds?

The moron who rented the room for them. They should be held accountable in this case; must be 21 to rent a room.
