Civic Dinner Dance Will Honor Chris Bolender

Annual event, to be held at the 128th Air Refueling Wing on May 17, brings together military personnel, local dignitaries, business leaders and residents.

This year's honoree at the 128th Air Refueling Wing's annual Civic Dinner Dance is Chris Bolender, wife of late Oak Creek Mayor Dick Bolender.

Chris Bolender has served both the South Milwaukee and Oak Creek communities. She taught in the South Milwaukee school system for 30 years in the areas of reading, special education and guidance, according to a news release.

In Oak Creek, she has served on the Celebrations Commission, the Salvation Army Board, the St. Stephen Family Life Center and was at her husband's side at many community events.

The 128th Air Refueling Wing, 1835 E. Grange Ave., hosts the cities of Cudahy, St. Francis, Oak Creek and South Milwaukee at the Civic Dinner Dance each year. This year's event will be held at 5:30 p.m. May 17.

More than 400 people, including military personnel, local dignitaries, business leaders and residents are expected to attend.

Those interested in purchasing tickets should contact the Oak Creek Community Center at (414) 768-5840 or Kim Jankowski at (414) 573-2947.
