WOW!!!! So far out of touch with reality!! An elected position by the people yet a few can vote in a raise for themselves as they see fit. Seriously? Tell me how his salary compares to those in the private sector?

My tax dollars hard at work. Where did I go wrong? Should have listened to my parents when they said I should get a Government Job. Wake up people is pretty obvious why this nation is going broke!!! How much is enough. Continue to take from the people in the form of taxes and fees just to meet to financial obligations of State, Federal and Local public sector employees until there is no more to take!! This nation is upside down!!!

That was nice of his friends to approve his raise. I clearly chose the wrong career.

Have any of you looked at the school district salaries? Several earn more. Paul Vance? He gets his retirement plus a hefty salary. I don't know how that works. Peterson's salary is not out of range considering his job responsibilities and now without a full time financial manager he is going to have to do even more.

Like most public employs the pay rangre is far more in compensation then in the privative sector ,and then we wonder why we are going over the fiscal cliff . Look at the elected officails in D.C. and in this state plus right here in O.C. were elise can you get a job and vote on your pay. and benfits I guess its a case of you scratch my back and I will scratch yours

The city administrator doesn't vote. Nor is he voted in. The council determines his pay. Personally I don't think any public employee should get raises in these trying times. However they all did thus so should Peterson. The mayor receives I believe 18 thousand per year. Scaffidi is working for nothing after all the hours he put in over the temple shooting. The only elected positions that get hefty salaries are city clerk and treasurer. Council should lower them before the next election to take effect after the election.
