Get Out: An Eggs-cellent Weekend is Ahead

Many egg-related activities are on the docket for Easter weekend.

It’s Thursday, and you’re looking forward to the weekend but have no plans for how to enjoy it.

Every week, we'll list five activities that you can use to spend your done-work-outta-here time.

Here are this weekend's picks:

Where/When: /Thursday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: With the kids off school Friday, get an early start to the weekend with a free screening of Toy Story 3. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. 

Pricing: free

2. Egg Day

Where/When: Milwaukee County Zoo/Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Why Go: Activities include a raffle, make-your-own-bunny-ears and Easter basket crafts and an Easter Bunny parade at 2 p.m. Also, an expert “bubblologist,” who creates giant soap bubbles in the atrium, and “Hop-to-it Bunny Scavenger Hunt,” where kids (ages 8 and under) can search for special tokens and redeem them for tasty treats.

Pricing: $13.25/adults, $12.50/seniors, $10.25/children ages 3-12 and free/children ages 2 and under

3. 

Where/When: South Shore Cinema/Saturday, noon.

Why Go: Enjoy a live simulcast of Strauss's opera Capriccio, a wise and worldly meditation on art and life, with an estimated running time of 3 hours and 25 minutes. Starring Joseph Kaiser and Sarah Connolly with Andrew Davis conducting.

Pricing: $24/adults and $18/children

4. 

Where/When: All Saints Lutheran Church/Sunday, 7 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Why Go: Come for food and fellowship, while enjoying a delicious menu of scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, bagels, pastries, hash browns, juice, milk and coffee.

Pricing: $4/children, $5/seniors and $6/adults

5. Easter Egg Hunt

Where/When: St. John’s Lutheran Church on Oakwood Road/Sunday, 8:30-8:50 a.m.

Why Go: Join family, friends and neighbors for an Easter egg hunt between Easter services outside of the church. Parents must stay with their children. You may also come to Easter breakfast served from 7:45-8:45 a.m. and stay for an uplifting Easter service at 9 a.m.

Pricing: Free for children ages 2-12
