Get Out: Mother's Day Brunch and More This Weekend

American Idol finalist's welcome home celebration, March for Babies among events this weekend.

It’s Thursday, and you’re looking forward to the weekend but have no plans for how to enjoy it.

Every week, we'll list five activities that you can use to spend your done-work-outta-here time.

Fish Fry

Where/When: /Friday, 3-9 p.m.

Why Go: A variety of Fish Fry specials, including beer-battered cod, blue gills, battered walleye, jumbo shrimp, baked potato crusted Icelandic cod, seafood bisque and more.

Pricing: $8.50-15

36th Annual Ice Show: Red, White and Blades

Where/When: Pettit National Ice Center/Friday, 7 p.m.; Saturday, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy performances by the Wisconsin Figure Skating Club and some of the area’s best amateur skaters in freestyle, ice dancing, pairs and synchronized team skaters.

Pricing: $8/online; $10/at the door

March for Babies

Where/When: Racine Zoo/Saturday, 9 a.m.

Why Go: Join the March of Dimes’ annual March for Babies, a walk fundraiser honoring babies born healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive. The fundraiser works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

Where/When: Oak Creek Community Center/Sunday, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Why Go: Join The Center and Kiwanis Club in a fundraiser for children’s educational programs that also provides a special treat for Mom. The brunch offers two shifts, one at 10 a.m. and one at noon.

Price: $17/adults, $15/seniors (age 60+), $8/children (ages 4-10), free/children (ages 3 and under). Attendees should order tickets in advance.

Welcome Home Celebration for American Idol's Naima Adedapo

Where/When: Buckhead Salooon in Milwaukee/Sunday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: Bring mom to enter a free drawing for a Summerfest family package and enjoy live performances by American Idol finalist Naima Adedapo Sindoola, UWM African Dancers and Cecilio Negron, Jr.

Pricing: $10
