Get Out: The Weekend Ahead in Oak Creek
Between comedy, two bands, and chili in the park, there's plenty to do this weekend.
It’s Thursday, and you’re looking forward to the weekend, but you have no plans and no clue how to enjoy it.
Each Thursday, we'll list five activities that you can use to spend your done-work-outta-here time. See this weekend's top picks below.
- Classic Lanes' Fish Fry
Where/When: Classic Lanes, 7501 S. Howell Ave./Friday, 4-9 p.m.
Why Go: Affordable, centrally-located. Plus, it's Friday, so it's not like you can eat anything else for dinner.
- Wine & Cheese Night
Where/When: St. John's on Oakwood/Friday, 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Why Go: An assortment of wines and cheeses will be available, plus plenty of other snacks to whet your palette.
Pricing: $15 per couple, $8 per person. Must be 21 or older.
- Comedy Night
Where/When: Oak Creek Community Center/Friday, 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: It could live up to last month's performance, which got rave reviews.
Pricing: $5 in advance, $7 at the door.
- Two Bands, One Night
Where/When: Oak Creek Community Center/Saturday, 8 p.m.-midnight.
Why Go: You can rock out to some classic tunes by Liverpool ’64, a Beatles tribute band, and AARPer’s Bizarre, covering new and old rock hits.
- Winter Blast and Chili Contest
Where/When: South Shore Park Pavilion in Bay View/Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
Why go: The event will include kids’ games, community organizations, live music and more.
Since we can only include five events this weekend, we know there are quite a few that we probably missed. Please list them in the comments section below.
