Great Escape: Melody Cookies

Shop until you drop in March, but start with dessert.

Between the chores, shoveling, chauffeuring around the kids, trying to do the repairs that your husband promised to take care of months ago, looking after your elderly parents and working at your paid job, you’ve earned yourself a Great Escape.

Each Wednesday, we’ll tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break, giving your mind a mini-vacation while you escape from reality so you can return refreshed and ready to be “super-mom” again.

After pampering yourself in February, make your life a little easier at home with some unique shopping destinations in March. Instead of saving the best for last, why not enjoy dessert first?

This week, plan a Great Escape to Melody Cookies, a large bakery with an attached outlet store that specializes in traditional, mouth-watering, made-from-scratch, baked-fresh-daily cookies. Browse their delicious selection and take in the sweet aroma as you eye up the competition for the one… or two bags you’ll take home you and the family to enjoy. Prices start at $1.25-1.75 for reject bags – considered anything with the shelf life of six months or less – and range up to $2.50-$11 for fresh bags. Bags range in size from half-ounce decorative trays to bags of two dozen cookies.
