Health Departments Honored For Emergency Planning
The Oak Creek Health Department is part of a consortium that was recognized for its ability to handle large-scale emergencies.
A consortium of 13 area health departments, including Oak Creek's, was recognized for its ability to handle large-scale public health emergencies.
The Milwaukee/Waukesha County Consortium for Emergency Public Health Preparedness submitted an extensive application and received honors through the Project Public Health Ready, according to a news release.
The consortium demonstrated that its member agencies are prepared to work with each other to handle bioterrorism events, new epidemics, natural disasters and other public health-related emergencies.
"It shows the dedication of our public health departments," Oak Creek Health Officer Judi Price said. "I'm proud to be a part of this outstanding consortium."
