A U.S. Senate hearing on violent extremism, held in the wake of the Aug. 5 attack at the Oak Creek Sikh temple, is scheduled to get under way about 1:45 p.m. central time.
The hearing can be seen on C-SPAN and will be streamed online. But if you're not able to watch, follow along on Oak Creek Patch for the latest on the hearing, and check back later tonight for a full story.
Here's a previous Oak Creek Patch story on the hearing, which will include testimony from Oak Creek temple member Harpreet Singh Saini, who lost his mother in the attacks. Several other temple members and Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele are attending the hearing and have submitted written testimony.

Pritam, I'm not so sure this was a hate crime and I certainly don't want to lose more of our constitutional rights per the feds saying the incident was extremist terrorism aka domestic terrorism. The Sikhs I've met in recent weeks were great people. I want to learn more about the religion as I am not a christian. When one studies religion and I'm not talking about studying the bible none are more violent then Christians and Muslims screaming faith based correctness on faith based ideology. What I've read to date about the Sikh I like as their ideology and actions are congruent.. Seems much more logical. Please explain the following: The Sikhs of Northern India are white. Many have darker skin coloring from the hot climatic environment of India. The Jews and Muslims are basically Arabs but the Iranians are Persians and thus again white. Deductively, this was not about race? There seems to be large amounts of missing information and illogical leaps to illogical conclusions. I simply don't get it.
