Man Charged With 3rd OWI
A 30-year-old man had a preliminary blood-alcohol content almost four times above the legal limit to drive, according to police.
A 30-year-old Oak Creek man is accused of driving drunk on S. Howell Avenue in front of an Oak Creek police officer Wednesday.
David R. Asselin was charged Thursday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court third-offense operating while intoxicated. If convicted, he faces up to one year in jail and $2,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
An Oak Creek police officer spotted Asselin driving erratically in the 9500 block of S. Howell Avenue and pulled him over. Asselin smelled of alcohol and was given a Breathalyzer test, which revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.29, nearly four times above the legal limit of intoxication to drive in Wisconsin.
Asselin was previously convicted of OWI in 2004 and 2009. He’s currently free on a $750 signature bond while awaiting trial.
