Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Oak Creek Girl
Matthew Elmore, 23, has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and possession of child pornography.
A Milwaukee man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old Oak Creek girl he met on Internet.
Matthew Elmore, 23, was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child and possession of child pornography. The child pornography charge carries a maximum sentence of 25 years imprisonment and $100,000 fine, while he faces up to 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine for each sexual assault charge.
According to a criminal complaint:
Elmore met the girl through an online social networking site last summer. Elmore claimed on his profile to be 17 years old, but eventually admitted to the girl he was 23 and learned she was 15.
The girl sent two sexually-explicit pictures of herself to the man in October. On two days in January, with the girl absent from school, Elmore came to her Oak Creek home and had sexual intercourse with her.
After the two got into an argument earlier this month, Elmore begged her not to tell her mother about their sexual activity and to delete the photos from her phone.
Police interviewed the victim the next day, and Elmore three days later. After initially denying any sexual contact, he was confronted with the victim's statement and her mother's recorded phone conversation in which he admitted knowing the victim was 15 years old and having sex with her. He then showed police detectives several nude photos of the girl, along with other young-looking females, he had on his phone.
Elmore told police he "doesn't always jump right into being 'Mr. Pervy' with girls," but that he was acting that way when he and the victim exchanged nude photos of each other.
Elmore waived his preliminary hearing and will next be in court for a scheduling conference March 4.
