New Music Store Will Hold 'String-Cutting' Ceremony

Event will be held at noon Saturday at Sweet Music, a new music store in the Market Place Village.

Sweet Music is forgoing the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate its opening in the Market Place Village, at the corner of Chicago and Puetz roads.

Instead, keeping with the store's theme, Dana and Michele Clark will hold a "string-cutting" event. The ceremony will be held at noon Saturday and includes Mayor Steve Scaffidi.

The Clarks teach, sell and repair a host of musical instruments, including guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, dulcimer and drums at Sweet Music, 8640 S. Market Place. They bring decades of experience teaching and playing to the store, which officially opened Aug. 1.
