Noodles Plans Move Forward

Restaurant will be standalone building on Howell Avenue.

The new Noodles and Company restaurant will be a standalone building at 8551 S. Howell Ave., across the street from the Oak Creek Community Center and City Hall.

The city Plan Commission on Tuesday night approved plans for a 2,500-square-foot building that will be owned by Gateway Jackson, Inc. and leased to Noodles. It will include an outdoor patio in front.

The restaurant, which will be part of the Oak Creek Centre development, could bring an additional 30 jobs to the area, according to a report to Plan Commission members. Construction is expected to begin soon.

Noodles and Company was founded in 1995 and has more than 56 restaurants in Wisconsin, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, Maryland and Virginia, according to the report. It offers a variety of noodle and pasta dishes influenced by Asian, European and American flavors.

Noodles has not yet responded to an interview request.
