Oak Creek Man Accused of Forcing Son to Watch Porn for Years

50-year-old charged with 12 felony counts of exposing a child to harmful materials. He told police he "was just trying to be a good dad."

A 50-year-old Oak Creek man allegedly provided his son with pornographic videos for several years and has been charged with 12 felony counts of exposing a child to harmful material.

According to a criminal complaint, the man started giving his son porn in fifth or sixth grade and made him watch the videos every week until early in his freshman year. The man would come into his son's room and want to discuss the movies, asking him, for instance, what his favorite scenes were, the complaint said.

"His father had started telling him about the birds and the bees, but as these conversations continued they became disturbingly graphic," according to the complaint Saturday filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.

The victim, now 18, told police he watched about 100 movies in a two-year period. He was very scared and the movies made him uncomfortable, but he felt if he didn't watch them his father would get mad, according to the complaint. His father was moody and would verbally abuse him, his sister and mother, the complaint said.

Police searched the man's work locker and found 139 pornographic DVDs. In an interview with police, the man said he knew "providing pornographic movies to (his son) was wrong, but he was just trying to be a good dad," according to the complaint.
