Oak Creek Man Allegedly Breaks Into a Garage, Then Gets In Accident
Police found stolen golf clubs in a back seat while investigating a hit-and-run accident.
A 30-year-old Oak Creek man is facing felony charges after police say he broke into a garage and then was involved in a hit-and-run accident, leading to his arrest.
Jamie Andrew Imler was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of burglary. If convicted, he faces up to 12 ½ years in prison and $25,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
At 1:15 p.m. Friday, Oak Creek police officers were called to a residence in the 8300 block of S. Chicago Road after a couple said someone stole golf clubs, a drill and fishing poles from their garage.
The couple saw someone speed away from the garage in a 1970s-era Oldsmobile Cutlass.
Around 5 p.m., Imler was pulled over by police investigating a hit-and-run accident. He drove a similar car involved in the theft, and after the officer noticed golf clubs in the back seat, Imler confessed to the theft.
He's currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail while awaiting trial.

I don't think he left anyone for dead.... another example of the court system failing us... if he was locked away for at least a couple of years, he would have been forced to sober up, re-evaluate his life and then upon his release, hopefully been rehabilitated and ready to lead a productive life. RIP Imler
