On June 8, a South Milwaukee police officer was doing surveillance on a high drug traffic area in the 1400 block of Edgewood Avenue when he spotted Beck pull up to a residence with another man. The passenger got out of the car and went to the residence for a short time, then returned to the vehicle.

The two stayed in the vehicle, which the officer deemed consistent with drug use after a purchase. He approached the car and ordered the two men out of the vehicle.
