One Crash, Two OWI Arrests

A crash that totaled two vehicles on Puetz Road early Sunday led to one drunken-driving arrest. A second driver who tried going around the crash scene and almost hit a squad car was also arrested.

A driver was arrested for drunken driving after rear-ending a car on Puetz Road early Sunday morning, then police arrested another driver who tried going around a squad car blocking the crash scene.

According to an Oak Creek police report:

A 29-year-old Oak Creek man driving at a high rate of speed plowed into the back of a car in the 1500 block of W. Puetz Road just after 1 a.m. His vehicle then went into the ditch and hit a mailbox.

The 29-year-old had a preliminary blood-alcohol content of .18 and was arrested for second-offense drunken driving. He was also cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.

About 20 minutes after police arrived, a vehicle went around and almost hit a police car blocking the crash scene.

The 33-year-old woman driving that vehicle was arrested for drunken driving after she had a preliminary blood-alcohol content of .13.
