Veterans were honored for their service in a Memorial Day program at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Oak Creek.
The event featured a wreath-laying, an Honor Guard salute, the releasing of doves and speakers who paid tribute to those who served.
"They gave up all of their tomorrows so we could have ours," said Joe Maniscalco, commander of VFW Post #8482.

Beautiful weather And a bEautiful ceremony to remember those who fight and have fought for our freedoms in this GREAT COUNTRY of ours. As we head into the summer months let us not forget this ceremony and all that it stands for---treat each other in the way we would want to be treated. Everyone knows that life is too short and in an instant it could all be taken away! God bless ou troops and God bless America!

Very nice program yesterday. We will make sure to attend next year too. I will try to upload some pictures tonight.

Agree with the above comments and would definitely encourage residents who have never attended to come out next year...worthwhile event, it only lasts about 45 minutes long so it leaves you plenty of time to go about the rest of your Memorial Day, and serves as a good reminder of what the day is all about.
