Public Hearing Monday on City Budget
The proposed budget does not include an increase in taxes for the fifth straight year.
A public hearing on the city's proposed 2013 budget will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall, before the Oak Creek Common Council takes a vote.
For the fifth consecutive year, the budget includes no increase in the property tax levy, except to account for new growth. And for the first time in three years, the city does not dip into its reserves to fund general operations.
"The 2013 budget as proposed was prepared with a balance between the continuation of quality services to Oak Creek citizens and awareness of costs to taxpayers," city officials wrote in a summary to the common council. "These are times of fiscal challenges."
