Retail Theft Suspects Flee Woodman's; Two Arrested

Police say three suspects in retail theft were involved in altercation on Howell Avenue. One got away in a green van.

Two men were arrested and a third got away following a retail theft at and an altercation on Howell Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

According to Oak Creek police reports:

A 911 caller reported two men stole items from Woodman's, 8131 S. Howell Ave., and then ran out of the store toward Howell Avenue about 1:20 p.m. They filled their pockets up with cosemetics, which fell out as they ran.

The Oak Creek Police Department then received several 911 calls about an altercation on Howell, with one person reporting that three men were beating up an older man.

One of the suspects left in a green minivan and could not be located. A second suspect, 53, was arrested after the van did not stop long enough for him to enter.

He was taken to a hospital after a possible asthma attack. Police learned he also took heroin and cocaine earlier in the day. He was arrested for retail theft and had a warrant for retail theft with the Greenfield Police Department.

The third suspect, a 38-year-old man, was found near , 111 E. Forest Hill Ave. He was arrested for retail theft, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia when police found a small glass pipe in his jacket pocket. He also had a warrant for disorderly conduct with the Greenfield Police Department.
