Seven Vehicles Involved in Domino Crashes on Rawson
Three vehicles were involved in a crash about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. As cars slowed for the accident, another domino crash ensued.
A total of seven vehicles were involved in chain-reaction accidents 15 minutes and one block apart on Rawson Avenue earlier this week.
According to Oak Creek police reports:
Three vehicles crashed into each other about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of W. Rawson Avenue.
A vehicle was eastbound on Rawson when it struck a second vehicle, which pushed into a third vehicle. One of the vehicle occupants, a 46-year-old South Milwaukee woman, was taken to the hospital for back and neck pain.
Police cited a 55-year-old South Milwaukee man for following too close. All three vehicles sustained minor damage.
About 15 minutes later, another 911 call came in about a four-vehicle accident one block away, in the 1300 block of W. Rawson.
That accident happened as cars were slowing for the first accident. A vehicle eastbound on Rawson struck the back of the car in front of it, causing a domino effect in which two other cars were hit.
The driver of the car that initiated the crash, a 53-year-old Hales Corners woman, was taken to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital with head and chest pain and a bloody nose. She was cited for inattentive driving.
Two other drivers were injured but declined an ambulance.
