Sigler Retiring as Oak Creek High School Principal
Assistant Principal Michael Read named replacement.
Paul Sigler will end his 23-year career with the Oak Creek-Franklin School District at the conclusion of this school year when he retires as high school principal.
The School Board accepted the retirement Monday night. Replacing Sigler will be another long-time district employee, Michael Read, now an assistant principal at the high school.
Superintendent Sara Burmeister said Sigler has a "great deal of passion" for his work and credited him with forging strong partnerships between the school and the community.
"I think that he’s very well-liked and he'll certainly be missed," Burmeister said.
Sigler, who had previous school administration experience in western Wisconsin, began in Oak Creek as a junior-high assistant principal. He has also served as an assistant high school principal and East Middle School principal.
Read has been at Oak Creek High School for 19 years, first as a teacher and then assistant principal. That experience should ensure a smooth transition, Burmeister said.
School Board members said they were excited for Read to get the opportunity.
"This is going to make me feel old, but I've known him half my life and I'm looking forward to seeing him in that position," School Board member Kathleen Borchardt said.

Paul Siglar's WKCE/WAA test scores are very good. RUSD should try to hire him to turnaround THEIR dismal test scores.

Mark will be interviewing Principal Sigler tomorrow. Got any questions you want him to ask?

Both of my kids have since graduated from Oak Creek High. But I will always remember how while my son just entered junior high, and struggling to fit in, Mr. Sigler would check up on him, offering suggestions about how to help him transfer over from elementary to middle school. He was genuinely concerned about us. Since then has always offered a smile and remembered each face! We will miss him very much. Good Luck to you Mr. Sigler. You have made a difference!
