Sikh Temple To Add Outdoor Recreation Area
Two sand volleyball courts, a tennis court and a soccer field would be added to the temple under a proposal forwarded to the Oak Creek Common Council.
The Sikh Temple of Wisconsin is preparing to add an outdoor recreation area to its facility at 7512 S. Howell Ave.
The proposal includes two sand volleyball courts, a tennis court and a soccer field just south of the building.
Plans were in the works before the Aug. 5 shootings. The Oak Creek Plan Commission reviewed the plans Tuesday night and recommended the Common Council approve a zoning change to allow for the addition.
Temple leaders told the commission they have no plans to develop the area east of the building, which alleviated the concerns of two neighbors who attended the Plan Commission meeting.
