And yet the liberals pretend that jobs are important.

Well nationally they(Dema) were the only ones to actually submit a jobs plan. State wide Walker has had a "Jobs Summit" and that hasnt worked out too well, so far since he has taken over the state has lost over 13,000 jobs(Politifact). Now it seems funny that every conservative here wanted and wants to balme Obama for the jobs loss in his first 5 months of office(jan-may), yet they say give Scotty time even though he has been in office for 10+ months. And this only counts the job loss. It doesnt even talk about how he has made several hundred thousand jobs statewide weaker. Now when you lose 13,000 jobs and you take a few hundred thousand of them and make them not worth as much what do you think that will do to our state economy? And to top it all off he gave big business in Wisconsin a 200 MILLION dollar free hand out(free hand outs which conservative always complain about when they are to the less advantaged). He did this right away and let me ask all you wonderful Walker supports WHERE ARE ALL THE JOBS THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO CREATE? Can't answer that one can you? Well let me help you out. That money is tied up in stocks to help make the wealthy of us more wealthy while not creating any jobs. When are Middle class people going to wake up and see this?

Jay, Poltifact keeps a running tally of the jobs created while Walker has been in office. Through October that number is a positive 29,300 jobs. Why do you mis lead? So Money is tied up in stocks and that is why jobs are not being created? What do you propose, that we confiscate those monies and redistribute it to those that have none? Obviously if people have "free" money the economy will boom, right? Please tell me how Walker has weakened hundreds of thousand of jobs? By asking those employees to contribute up to 8% of thier paycheck to there own insurance and retirement? Ohh the humanity, but it was OK for Doyle to require furlough days, layoffs and to raise taxes (which neted no new revenues)? How many state public employees have been layed off under Walker? Doyle's plan lowered incomes 3-6%, but those monies were reinstated and those employees were asked to contribute to there own well being and keep a job. Ask those 3000 people Doyle laid off if they would rather have Doyle's plan or Walker's plan.

JL, Walker did not takke office until Jan. Did not pass Budget Repair bill till March and a budget till may or June. The jobs created in Jan. through at least april can not be counted as his. None of his legislation had a chance to take any effect. So if you look at May Wisconsin had a 7.3% unemployment. Now it stands at 7.8. Nationally in May we stood at 9.0% and now we stand at 9.1% If you look at the number of jobs created after Walkers Legislation took effect its not very impressive.
Yes Money tied up in stocks mean wealthy people can make money but no one else does. That money was handed out to those corps on the idea/promise that it would be used to create jobs. And you can't answer the main question where are those jobs?
Here is the simple fact. We are all Greedy everyone one of us you and I included. Everyone wants more. And yes I do know there are people out there who take advantage of the system who are poor and I certainly do not condone that. But there are a higher % of the population that is rich and does theexact same thing(taking advantage of free handouts). The difference is this when a wealthy guy/gal does it it costs millions or billions, when a poor person does it is costs hundreds or thousands. Also think about who spends money and how much they spend. Middle class people spend at least 90% of their income some more some less on daily needs. Wealthy people dont. They just let it sit there.

There are numberous reports about how big business is just sitting on over 2 trillion bucks. Why? Who does this benefit? If they used some of this to hire new employees they would have new streams of revenue. Hence they would make more money. We have to start an upward cycle, and the only way to do that is to get jobs, The wealthy are greedy just like all of us and so when they get this money they just keep it under the bed. They need to be encouraged to actually reinvest it. Tax breaks for ACTUALLY hiring people is a better way to go then to just give them free hand outs.

@ Jay, you need to get an education in economics and how business works. Companies don't create jobs just to have people stand around and do nothing. There must be work for them to do. You also must of have missed the story yesterday about the 469 jobs that will be created by Ruud Lighting in Racine. Ruud was recently purchased by Cree, which is based in North Carolina. Cree could have moved the entire operation to N.C. but is committed to staying in WI. I think that has something to do with the future business climate in this state. With Scott Walker in office, I think you will see more of these stories coming out in the next 12 - 24 months. You need to get educated and stop listening to your union bosses.

@dean, First off I have not personally insulted anyone on this forum, merely disagreed with them. So I guess that kinda says a little bit about you and your intelligence. The fact that someone can say something that immediately leads you to a personal insult usually denote lack of intelligence. Secondly, there are tons and tons of business' right now that are overworking their employees. Worker production is at or near all time highs, which is dangerous for a workforce if they get over worked, it leads to societal breakdowns which we already have enough of. So there is plenty of that money to be spent where people would be working and not just sitting around. With regards to Ruud yes that is great, but its 469 jobs and they won't all be there poof just like that. Also there were plenty of stories during the Doyle Administration as well. Does Talgo ring a bell?? Oh yeah Mr. Walker took care of those jobs. How about all the jobs Doyle helped save at Mercury Marine? What about harley? But I suppose Walker will take credit for that as well. So to you I say Stop listening to Rush or hannity and actually look stuff up at non-partisan places. Don't let them lead you around by the nose, make up your own mind.

@Jay, I am not sure where I insulted you in my comments but I am sorry if you took offense at what I wrote. I merely questioned whether or not you understood economics or business. i do since I an a senior level executive at a Wisconsin Manufacturing Company. I disagree that companies are overworking their employees right now and am not sure where you are getting that "fact" from. I do know that Mother Jones had an editoral piece that made the same claim and I would say Mother Jones is as far left as Rush and Hannity are right. So I would not rank that in the non-partisan category. Unless you can go into every single workplace, I do not think you can logically make the claim that "tons and tons of business" (your words not mine) are overworking their employees. Talgo does ring a bell. I think they had less than 25 employees, a portion of those transferred from Spain, and I think they had a problem with hiring black workers. That is what my memory of them is. Check it out! Also, why did Talgo have to leave? Because we did not have the train? They could still build the trains in Milwaukee and send them to other places, like Harley does or Mercury Marine does. And by the way, please educate me on what Gov. Doyle did to help Harley or Mercury Marine? Does Thompson Products ring a bell? Jay, you question my intelligence but I think your have some confusion in your comments. Please help me become more intelligent!

The Union Bosses comments and the get an education comment seemed like a fairly obvious dig at me or my intelligence personally. If you say you didnt not mean it that way I will take you at your word, thank you for that response on that.
With regards to weather or not workers are over worked or not, I wonder if as a senior exec you may be out of touch with workers. Its nothing personal I am a worker bee with a decent wage and benes, but I see senior management at my workplace further and further out of touch. I do understand that you have jobs to do as well and that many of those senior execs put in monster hours, but that also means that many of them are not out on the "floor". At my work place we have less employees than we did 2 years ago yet we are doing more work per hour. In the last 2 year management has increased what we are expected to do/process by about 20-25%. The lower level full time and part time management have been forced to do multiple jobs. Quality has suffered. We are a Major US Business. Many of my friends who are both in management and employees report the same things at their own work places. Talgo had about 25 employees when they left but were to hire between 100-200. Mercury marine Doyle helped them reach accord so that some 700 decent paying jobs stayed here. And to that end workers took a 7 years pay freeze and and new hires didnt get as much starting wage. In the end their parent company gave out huge bonus' to top execs.

@Jay, your Talgo comment proves the initial point I was attempting to make. Job creation does not happen overnight. How long did Talgo have operations here and they had not reached the projected numbers? You don't just flip a switch and start hiring people. You must put create an environment where someone is willing to take the risk and invest in capital, be it machinery or people. Right now, there is so much uncertainty in the global economy, with Eurozone debt, U.S. budget problems and potential tax increases and the prospect of impending government regulation, why would anyone start a business much less hire somebody to work at it?

I wonder what the anti Walker crowd would have said if we tried to recall former Governor Doyle back when he was elected? I'm just sayin'. It seems to me that people are using this recall apparatus just to get their way and cause discord. If you don't like the current Governor's policies, put yourself wholeheartedly into the next election by supporting his opponent. The recall people are like little spoiled children who whine and cry when mommy and daddy won't buy them a toy they see right now. WHAT DO WE WANT? OUR WAY! WHEN DO WE WANT IT? NOW!! ....and if I ever hear the phrase "HEY HEY, HO HO" again, it will be too soon.
