Wrong-Way Driver Arrested For Third OWI
A man was seen driving near 13th and Rawson in the wrong lanes and without his lights on early Thursday morning. Police arrested him in the parking lot of South Shore Cinema.
The driver of a vehicle seen traveling on the wrong side of the road and without headlights on was arrested for his third drunken-driving offense early Thursday morning.
According to an Oak Creek police report, a witness called 911 about 12:45 a.m. reporting a vehicle near 13th Street and Rawson Avenue that was east in the westbound lanes with no lights on.
A second witness called 911 and reported the vehicle pulling into the lot of South Shore Cinema, 7261 S. 13th St.
Police found the driver to be intoxicated, arrested him for drunken driving and took him to Wheaton Franciscan for a blood draw.
Officers also found what appeared to be fresh damage to the front of the vehicle. Police thought he may have struck a tree due to bark and pine needles on the vehicle; the driver denied getting into an accident or hitting a tree.
