Not sure that's a fair statement Randy. There is no reason to believe that Clark would not have acted in a similar manner, or would need his gun if he were in Barrett's position during the incident.

Clarke has used your tax dollars to surround himself with a "posse" as if he's a hip hop hero and not the sheriff of a mid-size city. Judging solely by his words and actions there's a maturity question that should never arise about someone in the public safety sector. I doubt his recent posturing has anything to do with protecting county residents from the straw man of gun confiscation; if anything I suggest that this, in his mind, is what someone who wants to be mayor should say.

Watching Abele and Clarke butt heads is beginning to resemble a taxpayer-funded circus sideshow. I begin to tire of both.

Both Abele and Clark would make a better mayor than Barrett. Time to flush the toilet.

I doubt Abele would run for mayor, if he still thinks politics is so much fun after CE he'd probably go right after the governor's office. Another one without a college degree.

If all you've got is a complaint that Abele doesn't have a college degree, I consider you to be grasping at straws. Plus, I have never seen Abele connect two independent clauses with a mere comma, thereby making a run-on sentence construction.

Some people have natural ability. There are others that are chickens who think they are peacocks, just because someone told them that they had done enough to qualify.

Uh, Bren -- I don't have a college degree, and I will match my intelligence against many who do. Harry Truman and Abraham Lincoln didn't either. Neither did Frank Lloyd Wright. Of course, I'm not running for Mayor of Milwaukee or Governor of the state.

@ann...I have never heard of renege being used as a pejorative term. I have seen it misspelled as "re-nig", which is used as a pejorative and is taken to mean "don't vote for the black person". The context in which Patricia Jursik used the word was entirely appropriate and justified. I also find it rather amusing your statement about me. if you knew me you would realize how absolutely absurd your statement is. I started my work on the march from Selma to Montgomery. Although Lyle's stances are typically the complete antithesis to my own on most issues, I have to agree with him on the etymology of the word renege - from the Latin renego (to deny), re (again). Literally, to go back on a promise.

@ann...I am not empathizing with you, but pointing out the error that you and ConArtist made. Although as an assimilated minority, I am not a person of color and I would never claim to know exactly the experience of such. However, I will hold you accountable and to do less based on the color of your skin, would clearly be a discount to you as a person. To claim someone is a racist without sufficient evidence to support such charges, that says volumes about your own perceptions.

This whole issue between Sheriff Clarke, the County Board and the County Executive is nothing more than a "pissin contest". The only thing to learn is not to stand downwind or you're going to wet.

And that Lyle is what marks you as a better person. Of course what Ann was saying is tainted by racism. There is no way that a head clear of that particular taint can draw the conclusions that she did without being influenced by it.

That was not a mistake. The queens English is pretty clear about the definition of that word, and in the correct context you were using it for. Ann filtered that comment (and probably your picture) through her own bias and drew conclusions that just were not present.

@Dirk....I don't think that Clarke would ever be able to win a mayoral election in the City of Milwaukee. If I understand the situation correctly, it's the county suburbs that keep electing Clarke as Sheriff.
