Mayor Scaffidi does String Cutting for Sweet Music.

The grand opening Saturday at Sweet Music was a huge success, with Mayor Steve Scaffidi doing the "string-cutting" honors.

Sweet Music kept with the store's theme and ditched the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate its opening in the Market Place Village, at the corner of Chicago and Puetz roads.

Dana and Michele Clark teach, sell and repair a host of musical instruments, including guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, dulcimer and drums at Sweet Music, 8640 S. Market Place. They bring decades of experience teaching and playing to the store, which officially opened Aug. 1.
