Puetz Road Closure Continues Through Next Week

Puetz Road is scheduled to be closed at the railroad tracks through Aug. 23.

The closure of Puetz Road at the railroad tracks will continue through next Friday.

The road is closed so crews can install "quiet zone" improvements as part of a rehabilitation project on Puetz from Howell Avenue to Liberty Lane.

Properties on Puetz will still be accessible; drivers just will not be able to cross the tracks, City Engineer Mike Simmons said.

The detour route will be Howell Avenue to Drexel Avenue to 13th Street. The railroad work means the Oak Creek recycling yard will also be closed for two weeks.

Construction is expected to be completed by the time school starts Sept. 3.
