Pain, A Lot of Points and Intense Game on Thanksgiving Day!

Packers vs Lions on Thanksgiving Day! Family, Turkey and Packers - nothing is better. It will be an intense, hard fought, high scoring game.

In the past 2 years of attending a game at Lambeau I am 2-0! I have been lucky enough to attend many Packers games in my life and everytime I am I there, I am just in awe of the mystique that is Lambeau Field. The legends that have played on that field over the years, the moments in Packer history, and the atmosphere. It is a lifetime experience that if you have a chance to attend a game, everyone should do it. The game goes so much faster when you are there, than it does when you are watching it on TV.

Enough about being at the game, let's discuss this week's opponent, the Detroit Lions and what it means to play on Thanksgiving Day. This year, Thanksgiving will include Family, Turkey and Packer Football. To me that is the best way to spend a holiday.

This is one of the remaining games that actual scare me. The Lions are a much improved team and are no longer pushovers. The Lions play beyond the whistle as noticed when they played the Bears. I think we all remember last year, when these two teams met in Detroit, as Aaron Rodgers suffered a concussion and missed the next game. The Lions have one of the best defensive lines in the league and it will be up to the Packers offensive line to protect the franchise and limit the amount of hits that he takes. It will also require Rodgers to use his check downs more and get the ball out quickly to avoid any unnecessary hits.

This is Thanksgiving Day! A game the Detroit takes very seriously and being a short week for both teams, anything can happen in this game. I think that both teams will come out with a lot of energy and in the middle of the third quarter is when we will see some players start to get gassed. I heard McCarthy say this week that they prepare for divional opponents during the offseason and training camp. Assuming the Lions do the same, this game will come down to who executes better and which defense can come up with more key stops and bigger plays.

The Packers where 10-0 in 1962 when they went to Detroit on Thanksgiving Day and ended up losing 26-14. I am hoping the Packers avenge that loss and move to 11-0. There will be a lot of points scored and it will be a very intense game for both players, coaches and fans. Hopefully it is a great Thanksgiving Day game!
