Fishing Pier at Power Plant Expected to Open This Year
We Energies waiting for construction to wrap up before opening up pier to the public.
Public access to a fishing pier at We Energies' Oak Creek power plant is still in the plans.
Company spokesman Brian Manthey said the pier will likely be opened to the public at some point this year. Some construction wrap-up activities still remain, including some final touches on the fishing pier, that need to be completed before it can open.
The pier could prove to be a popular spot, as fish are attracted to the warm-water discharge at the power plant.
