Event Benefits 2-Year-Old Leukemia Patient

Proceeds from Nov. 11 event at Bootz Saloon benefit family of Amalia Mikulanec, who was diagnosed with a form of leukemia earlier this year.

Amalia Mikulanec is a 2-year-old girl who faces some three years of chemotherapy and blood transfusions after being diagnosed with a form of leukemia earlier his year.

To help the family offset medical costs, Bootz Saloon is hosting a benefit Nov. 11 that will feature kids crafts and cookie decorating, live music by Oak Creek's Southern Tradition, free appetizers, raffles and silent auctions.

Among the items up for bid: a ride to school in an Oak Creek fire truck, an autographed Green Bay Packers football, Grand Geneva Resort stay with four waterpark passes and more.

The event will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. at Bootz, 8950 S. 27th St. All of the proceeds go to Amalia's family.
