Oak Creek Family Awarded $1.1M In Son's Death

A wrongful death lawsuit was filed after an Oak Creek man's death in 2012.

An Oak Creek family was awarded more than $1 million in damages after a 31-year-old man, who was a quadriplegic, fell from a massage table while under the care of a home health nurse.

According to a report from Fox 6, a Milwaukee County judge awarded $1.13 million in damages to the estate of D.J. Chartier following a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the nurse, who was reportedly captured on a surveillance video leaving Chartier unattended as he fell from the table and broke his hip.

Chartier's mom told the station it brought "justice" for her son.
