Oak Creek Honors Those Who Served

A few hundred attend Memorial Day event at Forest Hill Cemetery.

A few hundred people gathered on a gorgeous Memorial Day morning at Forest Hill Memorial Park to remember the true reason for the holiday - honoring those who served.

The ceremony, which lasted a little less than an hour, included several speakers, placing of the wreath, "Amazing Grace" on bagpipes, a singing of "God Bless America" and the releasing of doves.

Organizers also did a roll call of all veterans laid to rest at the cemetery from May 16, 2010 through May 13, 2011.

Following the event at Forest Hill, the American Legion Post 434, 9327 S. Shepard Ave., hosted a hot-dog lunch.

Grow up. We won't forget either. That those of you who had a little bit, held tightfisted to it likeRead More a four year old unwilling to share his toy truck. That you endorsed and supported a man who has gone on to undermine this state, its jobs, its infrastructure, its education system, its people, its very foundation. You remember...it was you who did this.
