Oak Creek Will Honor Veterans With Memorial Day Ceremony

A program Monday morning at Forest Hill Memorial Park will include an Honor Guard, speeches and the Raising of the Colors.

Oak Creek will honor veterans with a Memorial Day tribute scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday at , 3301 E. Forest Hill Ave.

The event begins with an in-cemetery parade to the New Veterans Garden of Honor section, where the Raising of the Colors will take place, followed by the National Anthem.

Later, a memorial wreath will be placed for all veterans and a Roll Call will honor veterans laid to rest at Forest Hill during the past year. The Honor Guard will salute the departed veterans and Taps will be played.

Among the speakers are Joe Maniscalco, commander of VFW Post 8482; Jim "Ozzie" Oswald, commander of American Legion Post 434; State Rep. Mark Honadel; State Sen. Chris Larson; and Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi.
