Photos: Oak Creek Celebrates Independence Day

Droves of residents braved the heat to attend Oak Creek's Fourth of July parade Wednesday.

On another sweltering day in Wisconsin, Oak Creek residents came out in droves for the annual Fourth of July parade.

The parade started at Groveland and Shepard, wound its way past before finishing at the American Legion, where ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers and more were served.

In addition to numerous floats, local businesses and community groups, the parade had several big-name Wisconsin Republicans — U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan and U.S. Senate candidates Mark Neumann, Tommy Thompson and Eric Hovde.
