UWM To Honor Oak Creek Business Owner

The UWM Alumni Association will honor Benjamin Engel, owner of J.F. Cook Company.

An Oak Creek business owner will be among the distinguished alums honored by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Alumni Association.

Benjamin Engel, president and owner of J.F. Cook Company, will be presented with a "Gold" award, which recognizes graduates of the last decade.

Engel took evening and weekend classes to complete his UWM degree while working full-time as a business banker, according to a university news release.

He was named to the Milwaukee Business Journal's "Forty under 40" list in 2011, and also volunteers with a number of local groups and organizations.

Engel and several others will be recognized at the UWMAA Alumni Awards Evening Nov. 8 at the Milwaukee Public Museum.

J.F. Cook Company, 7830 S. 10th St., sells and installs garage doors, windows, pedestrian doors, gates and closures.
