Updated: Water Main Break Reported on Chicago Road

Crews are working to fix a water main break just south of Oakwood Road.

Updated: 10:30 a.m. Thursday

Crews continued efforts to fix a water main break Thursday on Chicago Road just south of Oakwood Road.

The Oak Creek Water and Sewer Utility hoped to have the water main back on line by the end of the day, Utility Engineer Ron Pritzlaff said.

Residents on Chicago Road and a nearby subdivision were without water Thursday. The We Energies power plant was also affected but switched over to an alternative source, Pritzlaff said.

While water was still coming out Thursday morning, it flowed down a ditch just as it would during a storm and did not cause any major issues, Pritzlaff said.

Officials do not yet know the cause of the break.
