World War II Highlighted at Sept. 9 Historical Society Fest
Antique tractors, a working blacksmith, a weaver and spinner will also be featured at the festival, held at 15th and Forest Hill avenues.
The Oak Creek Historical Society will highlight visits with World War II veterans and living-history groups at its 14th annual Fall Festival on Sunday, Sept. 9.
The free event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the society's historical buildings at S. 15th Avenue and E. Forest Hill Avenue. The theme is "American Memories of World War II," and the living-history groups from Army, Navy and Marine Corps units each will display dozens of artifacts.
A continuous slideshow of Oak Creek history will be running in the Miller Farm Shed, one of seven historic structures at the site dating back to the Hughes Log Cabin from the 1840s and the old Town Hall, built in 1874.

The festival also will feature antique tractors, a working blacksmith, a weaver and spinner. Luncheon items, baked goods, honey, books and many other items are for sale.
A handmade quilt is the grand prize in the raffle, for which tickets cost $1. The many other prizes include an autographed football from the 2011 Green Bay Packers.
