Courage To Dare Foundation is an IRS 501(c)(4) organization that is dedicated to ensuring that through advocacy, awareness, education, research and empowerment, West African population, both men and women, will not have to hopelessly face breast cancer alone. Courage To Dare Foundation, is an organization that empowers and trains breast cancer advocates to be effective in every aspect of the fight to end breast cancer. We work to educates women to make their own informed decisions and to take an active role wherever breast cancer decisions are made.

From Juliet Aguwa’s  personal experience, her vision for Courage To Dare Foundation was formed.  Having gone through all the stages of treatment and emerging a survivor, she realized that there were many African women and men that were not privileged with the information that I had or  access to the kind of treatments that I had. I was determined to reach out to both women and men with critical lifesaving education on breast cancer by being a spokesperson or the voice on the issues affecting African women and men when they are diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  Through Courage To Dare, I am determined to ensure that individuals of African descent have access to information about breast cancer and have access to preventative mammogram screenings.

In honor of all the work, Juliet Aguwa was invited as a guest on the November 16, 2010 Oprah Winfrey Show, as an audience of individuals that the show honored for making a difference in their communities.  As a surprise to the audience and the invited guests, the show ended up being Oprah Winfrey’s final “Oprah’s Favorite Things” show.
