Everyone is German on September 24th on Old World Third Street. Why? Because that's where the 1st Annual Das Oktoberfest Block Party is happening.
Traditionally Oktoberfest is a 2 week affair, but in Milwaukee, we'll condense it down to one day, September 24. But it will be a doosy of a day. The beers will be flowing, the brats a-sizzling, and games will be playing.
Here's What's Cookin'
DAS BAR TOUR:
They're closing down Old World 3rd Street and putting a few beer tents up. Expect a photo scavenger hunt with thousands in prizes and a lot drink specials.
DAS BRAT TROT FOR CHARITY:
Join in on the 1.5 city block run/walk. Pets are free, and there are a lot of cool perks that come with your registration. Like suspenders, a Usingers brat, and some beer. Plus proceeds benefit Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee.
DAS FOOD DRIVE:
Bring some non-perishable food items between 12noon and 3pm and get some free food yourself, from Usingers. Your donations will go to the Hunger Task Force.
DAS BIER GARDENS:
With Old World 3rd Street closed down, it's time to party! Twelve bands will fill 5 tents and there will be lots of beer.
DAS PARK:
Oktoberfest will recreate Germany right here in Milwaukee. You'll be greeted by live tunes, German arts and crafts, a beer tent, German fare, and German culture. Play Hammerschlaggen, Beer Belly Contest, Das Fashion Show and other cultural games.
