Oak Creek Lionsfest

The 53rd Annual Oak Creek Lionsfest Runs from Friday – Aug. 31st thru Monday - Sept. 3rd.    Come on out and enjoy the music, food, rides, fun & games for all ages.  

The Festival kicks off Friday Aug 31st with Senior’s Day.   

Senior citizens are invited from 11AM until 3PM for food, games, prizes and dancing with lunch served from noon – 2:00 PM.

Polka and Dance music by the ever popular Michael Schneider will be on the inside stage from Noon – 3:30 PM.

New for this year will be a special Veteran’s Recognition and Appreciation Day on Monday, Sept. 3rd , from Noon – 6 PM, with a free food voucher for all Veterans showing a qualifying Veteran’s card.

Also new this year will be the appearance of the KOHL’s WILD Theater during the Kids and Family event on Saturday from 11 AM – 3 PM.

 Live entertainment on the Indoor & Outdoor stages will be available all weekend long as more than 20 bands play your favorite music.  

Kicking things off on Friday will be “The Band that Milwaukee made Famous” – BAD BOY (www.badboyrock.com) on the outdoor stage at 3 PM followed by “One of the midwest's best Southern Rock groups” - the Sociables (www.thesociables.com) as the headliner from 8 PM to Midnight. Things keep rocking on Saturday, as “Wisconsin’s most acclaimed Band” - The Toys (thetoysband.com) take the stage at 8PM.   Sunday night is Tribute Band night as the band Bad Medicine (http://www.badmedicinelive.net/) – Bon Jovi Tribute Band - takes the stage at 7:30 PM followed by last year’s Oak Creek Lionsfest hit Dr. Love - the Kiss Tribute Band (www.talentassoc.com/drlove/index.html) at 9:30 PM.   Monday begins with special Guest Kevin Brant and Mary Carlson (WKLH Radio – Milwaukee Classic Rock) on the outdoor stage at Noon.  Then, the ever popular Pat McCurdy (www.patmccurdy.com) entertains the crowd at 3:30 PM.   The Led Zeplin Tribute Band – Kashmir (http://kashmirchicago.com/) finishes things off on the outdoor stage, from 7PM – 9PM.    That’s just the outdoor stage.    There’s also a full lineup of bands playing on the indoor stage all weekend as well and it all concludes with the Lions festival favorite the Nashville Rejects from 7PM – 10 PM.

For Fun & Games, Calkins Midway will be here once again with all of your favorite carnival rides.  Discounted ride tickets for the midway are available for advanced purchase at the following Oak Creek locations: Ace Hardware, the American Legion Post, the Butcher Block, Gary’s Beer & Liquor, M&I – BMO Bank, North Shore Bank, the Oak Creek Community Center, Piggly Wiggly and Walgreens.   Discounted ride tickets are also available at Muskies in South Milwaukee and the Johnson Bank in Franklin.   Advance, Discounted ride tickets may also be purchased from any Oak Creek Lion member.  Don’t miss out, the Discounted ride tickets sales, including the “wrist bands” for unlimited rides, end at 5 PM on Friday Aug. 311st.   No discounted tickets will be sold after that time.    The unlimited ride “wrist band” is valid from 1:00 PM until 11:00 PM on Saturday or Sunday or from Noon to 8:00 PM on Monday.

The Festival grounds open to the general public on Friday August 31st @ 3PM and we’ll be serving our Fish Fry promptly at 4 PM.  

Saturday morning will be a craft fair in the upper parking lot (9AM – 3PM) and the kids and family featured tent activities begin at 11 AM with Clowns, magic, coloring and the Kohl’s WILD Theater.   Saturday’s Meal special will be the Steak Sandwich.

Sunday the grounds open @ 10AM with a Car show on the Upper Legion baseball diamond/field until 3PM.  Also Sunday morning is our revered Polka Mass, starting @ 10:30 AM – Inside the Lower Legion.   Our famous beef or pork BBQ sandwiches, brought to you by the Butcher Block of Oak Creek, with all the fix’ins will be served Sunday and Monday from Noon until 5:30 PM or while supplies last.

Increased cash prizes, Brewers Tickets and a Ron Dayne Autographed Helmet highlight this year’s Oak Creek Lions raffle drawing, which will be held Monday evening @ 7PM, inside the Lower Legion building.   You do not have to be present to win.

So don’t forget – Friday Aug. 31st  thru Monday Sept. 3rd, the 52nd Annual Oak Creek Lionsfest.     9327 S. Shepard Avenue – approximately 2 Miles east of   I-94.  From I-94, take Ryan Road East to Shepard Avenue, then Left ½ mile and look for the Ferris wheel.    You may also arrive at the festival grounds from the North by heading South on Shepard Avenue off of Puetz Avenue.
