Story Time at the South Milwaukee Public Library Every Tuesday Morning

Every Tuesday morning, until October 11, at South Milwaukee library is story time for kids 2-6 years old.   It starts at 10:30 am and lasts about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes.

The librarian will read or tell stories, or give a puppet show.  Sometimes she uses a flannel board to tell the story.  Each Tuesday, your child will hear about 4 stories.  In between, kids will participate in  movement poems to help them shake off excess energy.  At the end of the session there's a a craft actvitiy relating to the theme of the day.  Examples include baking a cake, coloring in coloring books and other things.  There's also a show and tell at the end of the session.

Story Time at South Milwaukee library lasts for 6 Tuesdays.  The last session (October 11) is a party, where kids can bring a treat for their friends and pass it around.  After that, there's a 4 week break.   The next Story Time series starts November 8.

This activity is appropriate for kids between 2 and 6 years.  If your child is under 3, you must stay in the room with them.  If she or he is over 3, a parent or adult must remain in the library, but not necessarily in the story room.

Although Story Time is free, you must register for the entire series.  There's a limit of 25 so that the librarian can bring enough materials for the craft activity at the end of each session.
