Bank Mutual Approaching 40 Years in Oak Creek

Bank Mutual has been a mainstay in Oak Creek since Dec. 11, 1972. 

But despite being part of a statewide group that includes 78 other locations (plus one in Minnesota), the hometown feel is still there when you walk into the branch at 8780 S. Howell Ave.

To a degree, that's by design. Bank Mutual prides itself on its ability to provide individualized, 1-on-1 services for customers to make them feel comfortable, Personal Banker Rick Maruszewski said. The atmosphere and layout at the bank is one way to do that. 

Maruszewski says Bank Mutual is perfect for a teenager who is just beginning a savings account. But it's also good for the adult who needs more complicated money management services, or the small business owner needing a loan, he said.

The bank offers a full range of savings, investment, checking and lending services.

Bank Mutual was founded in 1892 and is now one of the largest federally-chartered savings banks in Wisconsin, according to its website. The company serves more than 100,000 households.
