Erv Kazik, Founder of Erv's Mug, Has Died

Kazik founded longtime Oak Creek restaurant in 1979.

Erv Kazik, who founded Oak Creek's in 1979, has died.

A memorial celebration of life will be held at Erv's Mug from 3:30 to 8 p.m. on May 2, which is preceded by a memorial service at St. Alphonsus Church in Greendale at 2 p.m., according to the restaurant's Facebook page.

The restaurant, famous for its fish fry and craft beers, has been a longtime fixture on Ryan Road. It is owned by his daughter, Danielle Baerwald, after Kazik's retirement in 2004.
