Hotel Project Planned For Pennsylvania Ave. Corner

A $42 million development has been proposed for a former landfill near Layton and Pennsylvania avenues in Cudahy.

A $42 million, hotel-anchored development would replace a former Cudahy landfill near Layton and Pennsylvania avenues, according to a Journal Sentinel report

More details about the proposed development, which will also include retail, will be disclosed during a Plan Commission meeting in October, the newspaper reported.

The proposal has surfaced while another hotel project near the airport, in Oak Creek near the corner of College and Howell avenues, has stalled.

Developers of a planned Four Points by Sheraton hotel and a long-term airport parking lot have not returned to the city's Plan Commission since last spring, when the commission held off voting on site plans amid numerous issues needing to be address. Construction has been delayed several times since the project was first proposed in 2010.
