Johnstone Supply Planning Oak Creek Facility

24,000-square-foot building to be constructed on Howell Avenue.

Johnstone Supply, a national HVAC and appliance part distributor, will construct a 24,000-square-foot building atΒ 6890 S. Howell Ave.

The company anticipates eight employees working there and three to five semi-trailer deliveries per week. Hours of operation will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and possibly 7 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Johnstone has facilities in Waukesha and on the northwest side of Milwaukee. Its parent company is Appliance Parts Inc.

The company's plans are contingent on approval from the Oak Creek Plan Commission, which is scheduled to vote on the proposal Tuesday night.

"The national co-op recently approved the development of a new location for southern Milwaukee County, and we are excited to have the commission consider the development of a new state-of-the-art facility" in Oak Creek, chief operating officer Paul Chawla said in a letter to the city's development department.

If approved, Johnstone would mark yet another new business for that section of Howell Avenue, which lately has been a hot area for new development.

Sheraton for a Four Points hotel at the corner of Howell and College. Earlier this month, the Plan Commission approved plans for a 120,000-square-foot building and create 40 new jobs.

Just north of Rawson Avenue, a strip mall that will host six to nine tenants .Β
